Choosing An Aesthetic Doctor Or Nurse – What You Need To Know

12 Feb 2016, by Cathy Blackburn in Anti Ageing, Articles, Cosmetic injectable, Cosmetic treatments

Knowing exactly how the face ages is vital to ensure you receive a treatment that will not only knock years off you, but will look natural and leave you still looking like, well like you. We have all seen post procedure celebrities who have ended up looking like a caricature of themselves or worst case scenario, no longer recognisable! Renee Zellweger is probably the most well known celebrity to have been in the press because cosmetic treatments have altered her face to the degree that shi is not recognisable. Not in a  Micky Rourke kind of way, but non the less, you wouldn’t know it’s her.

Whether you are having surgical treatment such as a face lift, so called “soft surgery” such as Plexer plasma blepharoplasty to restore your eye area and reduce sagging, or injectable cosmetic treatments such as Botox, dermal filler or thread lift you should specifically look for a consultant who knows their stuff.

Gone are the days when you would go to someone who just did a bit of botox between being a doctor, dentist or nurse in the NHS to top up their wages. You should seek out an aesthetic doctor or nurse who specialises. These are the practitioners who regularly update their skills, learning the latest techniques and procedures to give better, safer treatments. These are the people who have a passion for the industry. They are not in it to top up their income, they are in it because it’s their career and their passion and they carry a wealth of knowledge that can only be found in someone who is treating plenty of clients on a daily basis.

A good aesthetic nurse or doctor should be able to take years off you, but the result should look natural. Pillow face is the result of too much of a good thing, namely too much dermal filler. Sure there will be no wrinkles, but there will be no discernible features either, just a puffy mass where your face once was. A good aesthetic doctor or nurse knows how much intervention is enough to leave you looking refreshed and youthful without ever looking puffy and featureless.
