3D lipo or Laser lipo?

There are many different non surgical lipo systems out there. 3D lipo, Laser lipo, i-lipo, Strawberry laser lipo, Ultrasound Cavitation, Cryolipolysis….. and the list goes on and on for non surgical lipo treatments. But what is the difference between them, what really works and what doesn’t when it comes to non surgical lipo?

Firstly, the word ‘lipo’ is short for lipolysis which means ‘the breakdown, splitting up or decomposition of fat’. It does not mean the destruction of the fat cells themselves, and this is where the big problem with any non surgical laser based lipo treatments lay. Non laser based systems such as 3D lipo are superior in many ways but first let’s look at how laser lipo works.

How does laser lipo work?

Laser lipo treatments work by tricking the fat cells into emptying out their contents. But you then have to exercise to burn off the released fuel. If you don’t, the fat simply returns to refill those empty cells. Laser lipo does not work for everyone either and the reason for this is still unknown. However, some research shows that fat cells become less responsive to laser stimulation the longer they have been around. Typically those fat cells over 5 years old become more or less completely unresponsive and therefore cannot be tricked by the parameters of the laser frequency.

Another problem with laser lipo is that even for those who have had some results the effects are often only temporary. In other words, as soon as you over indulge in an excess of calories in the form of either food or drink, the fat cells can simply just fill back up again.

What else is available other than Laser lipo?

Laser lipo technology is no longer considered new technology. Within the past 18 months alone, the UK has seen the introduction of two completely separate technologies which are now non-surgically able to not only remove the fat from the cells, they also destroy the fat cells at the same time. These treatments are the nearest thing to having traditional liposuction without either going under the knife. They don’t have the associated risks or the expensive price tag of liposuction but give results with the same degree of permanence.

If you are serious about looking at non-surgical body contouring, do not waste your time, energy and money on any laser based technology. At best you will only have temporary results. The 3D lipo system uses different technology based on proven ultrasound cavitation and cryolipolysis.

Check to see if a clinic in your area offers 3D Lipo Cryolipolysis and Ultrasound Cavitation treatment.  3D lipo encompasses  these technologies which work in completely different ways from each other, but their end results are the same; permanent removal of fat cells and therefore more permanent long term results.
