Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Laser skin rejuvenationLaser skin rejuvenation using long wavelength laser targets collagen synthesis within the skin. The laser energy delivered has been shown in clinical trials not only to stimulate collagen production, but also to reduce the degradation of existing collagen in the skin.

Laser energy is absorbed by the collagen fibres in the skin stimulating the fibroblasts to produce fresh collagen. The laser energy also affects the regulation within the skin responsible for breaking down collagen and inhibits that process. The result is visibly younger plumper skin.

What to expect with your laser skin rejuvenation treatment

Treatment may be slightly uncomfortable and the skin will sometimes red and slightly swollen, feeling a little warm afterwards. There may be slight blistering though this is extremely rare. Immediately after treatment the skin may appear temporarily lighter or darker than untreated skin. For most people these are slight side effects which soon disappear. Typically around three treatments which are done over three months will achieve best results.
